How do I plan for my remodel?
Ask Yourself A Few Simple Questions
Determine both what you like and dislike about your current space. Often what you dislike tells a designer more than what you do. When does it seem the worst? How do you use the space? Gather examples (from magazines or pictures) of spaces you like. Who uses this space?
What should I look for in the Remodeler I hire?
A remodeling project is a complicated undertaking and one that not only requires a qualified professional, but someone who you feel you can trust. Ultimately, the project requires a working relationship between you and your remodeler – a relationship that needs to be built on trust. If you feel you’ve found someone you can trust, you will undoubtedly be able to work through the specifics together – including budget. A working relationship built on trust will lead to a successful project you will both be proud of. We at Precision Homes and Remodeling work hard at ensuring this type of relationship with all of our clients.
What if I want to change something once we’re underway?
Changes are expected and happen frequently. It’s one thing to see your project on paper and pick your materials from a showroom and another to walk through it. If you feel like you want to make a change, speak up! We’ll discuss the possible impacts of the change and make a plan together to move forward. For the project to be successful the end result needs to be exactly what you hoped for.
I don’t have a good understanding of materials that can be used in my space. Do I need to choose these myself?
No. We like to accompany our clients to our vendors’ showrooms to help explain the pros and cons of different materials as well as our experience in using those materials. Our reps are outstanding at explaining the specifics of the products. We usually have some materials in mind that we think will work great for your project. Choosing materials is another aspect we work together on.
How much will my project cost?
A common question we get that can change based on a number of parameters. The best approach is to schedule a consultation and request an estimate, however for planning purposes, Remodeling Magazine publishes regional and national averages yearly.
